‘A Conscious Rebellion’, is a new play, made with, through and for communities in North Kent. Through an extensive R&D period, we’ll be exploring the closure of the Chatham Dockyards in the 1980s and its relationship to the area’s evolving history and identity. Created by Artistic Director Liz Bacon, Associate Playwright Natalie Mitchell and Producer Tian Glasgow, ‘A Conscious Rebellion’ aims to represent new voices in theatre, whilst creating high quality, engaging and immediate work that reaches new audiences.
We’re running an extensive R&D period, collecting local stories from North Kent communities across December 2017, for a sharing at The Woodville in Gravesend, Kent, at the beginning of February 2018. If you want to know more about the project, support or get involved in our work, we’d love to hear from you, drop us a line firstname.lastname@example.org tweet us @anythingother or reach us on Facebook
Thank you to Arts Council England, the Peggy Ramsay Foundation and Gravesham Council for funding this project, and to our partners The Woodville, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, LV21 and The Gr@nd for supporting our work in the community.
